Julie Herron is a Psychotherapist specializing in trauma and attachment, and maintains a private practice in Lawrence, Kansas. Julie has spent over twenty years working with individuals who have experienced childhood complex trauma which tend to be adults and adolescents with a history of childhood sexual trauma, neglect, and/or abuse. She has extensive experience with a wide range of experiences, struggles, life challenges, and relationships. Julie's approach begins with ensuring that the therapist/client relationship is a good fit and that the client feels safe and can trust the therapy process. Julie is trained in Clinical Psychology and engages in approaches such as DBT, Interpersonal Process, CBT, and EMDR to name a few. Julie bases her approach on the individual needs of the client, the couple or the family. Her belief is that most individuals who come seek therapy have an awareness about the emotional wounds they carry and this results in pain and difficulty managing many aspects of their daily lives. Healing begins with the courage to look at those wounds. She does view each person as their own expert and adjusts to the needs of each individual or situation. Julie encourages and welcomes all people and energies and looks forward to hearing your story and helping you find your path to healing.
